at University of California-Los Angeles Los Angeles, CA
very flexible and versatile; it’s 1/3 cs 2/3 math at my school
in my school it’s like 1/3 cs 2/3 math but i think you get a good enough foundation in cs for a swe job but also a good foundation in math to pursue math in grad school. It’s very flexible
Hard hard hard hard as hell don’t come wish I didn’t choose it
Comptuational mathematics is a math-heavy major, so it is recommended to those who enjoy math and a bit of computer science.
Good major at intersection of math and CS, can go into many career paths like swe, finance, etc.
It is a decent major, and is easy for getting the math classes.
Very theoretical and a lot resources to help with courses
I would recommend for people who want to go into industry rather than academics but who enjoy math a lot.
If you enjoy math and computer science I would recommend this major. It is much more applied than pure math, so this major would be perfect if you want to go into industry rather than academics.
It’s a good major to experience computer science and determine if it’s the right field for you rather than directly going into computer science and finding out. Additionally, it’s more flexible as you can minor in something else.
