Most of the upper level electrical engineering classes are very difficult because they can be deeply applications based, and some of the topics can be very hard to understand/visualize. I think a student in electrical engineering must find true enjoyment in building things with EE concepts in order to stick with it and get through all the challenging coursework, instead of just being there for the paycheck. One of the best parts of electrical engineering is the career prospects. There are a lot of different sub paths within the major to explore (RF, FPGAs, power control, embedded systems, semiconductors, etc.). There are also many industries with an increasing demand for EEs. The increase in AI is causing more demand for power in data centers, as well as application specific integrated circuits used for large language models.
