at Cornell University Ithaca, NY
Architecture is an interest driven major, and the workload is heavy enough for an undedicated student to lose their mind and confidence :( So choose architecture only if you’re really into it. You must be able to motivate yourself through sleepless nights and feel accomplished by your small progress in order to push through the never ending projects.
The major is heavily project based. Demand a lot of work for studio class. Don’t have much time for other classes either in or out of the department. The process and be rewarding and frustrating, sometimes depending on the teaching faculty. For some it’s sleep depriving and mentally challenging. Many people switch major in their first or second year.
