Film at NYU puts a lot of weight behind teamwork; the admins constantly emphasize how good filmmaking requires good communication, and that your peers are allies, not competition. Film is an opportunity to work with some of the most creative people in the world. It is also a chance to meet some of the most difficult people in the world. In any case, you will find yourself in a creative capital, surrounded by inspiration, like-minded individuals, and highly acclaimed professors willing to get your foot in the door!
Many enter Film with imposter syndrome. You will quickly learn that there is a place for everyone. Some people will exceed your expectations, while others will have you wondering how they even got in. But the admissions board saw a unique spark in everyone, and that includes you! Additionally, Film at NYU pays attention to directing actors from an actors‘ perspective, something I think is quite valuable and rare for a film school.
