What about your experience studying Cybersecurity led you not to recommend the major?
The school doesn't offer a lot of cybersecurity courses and there isn't as much resources/support when it comes to cybersecurity co-ops. Most of the core requirements for the major are CS courses, with a handful of CY courses. Besides the CY courses and maybe a few of the CS courses, the major is filled with a lot of irrelevant courses like theory of computation, ECE, and math past calc 1.
At Purdue, the Cybersecurity courses are actually very focused into the specialty. In some universities, Cybersecurity also learn CS courses but not in Purdue. It is very streamlined. The professors also encourages you a lot to attend events, do research and many more. Most of the courses are very hands on as well. You'll be working on virtual machines every week.
