Studying Data Science has been both challenging and rewarding. One of the most exciting aspects of this major is learning how to apply mathematical and statistical concepts to real-world problems. The coursework can be demanding, especially when it comes to programming, probability, and machine learning, but seeing these concepts come together in research projects makes the effort worthwhile. Through my research experiences, I’ve learned that Data Science is not just about building models, but also about asking meaningful questions, understanding data, and interpreting results critically. My advice to prospective students is to build a strong foundation in mathematics and programming, stay curious, and seek out research or hands-on opportunities early.
